Laoye Shuo "Bai Ta" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake

$40.00 USD
数量

Crafted for the modern connoisseur, this raw Pu-erh tea is sourced from the heartland of Pu-erh production – Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. We use only the first flush sun-dried leaves of the large-leaf tea varietal, which are then expertly pressed into convenient, breakable tea cakes. Our unique "Brew-Block" design features pre-scored sections, making it effortless to break off a perfect portion by hand—no tools required.

$40 | 60g (4g x 15 bags) | 1 Box

——Tasting Profile

Dry Leaf: The cake reveals neat, tightly bound strands with a dark green hue, adorned with prominent silvery buds.
Aroma: The dry leaf offers a captivating fragrance of fresh floral and honey notes, complemented by a clean, botanical sweetness.
Liquor: The brew presents a radiant, clear liquor in shades of yellowish-green to pale gold.
Taste: Experience a refreshingly smooth and sweet initial sensation. The bitterness is subtle and dissipates quickly, leaving a prominent, lingering sweet aftertaste reminiscent of rock sugar. This culminates in a prolonged, pleasant sweetness and a mouth-watering effect that enlivens the palate.
Spent Leaves: After infusion, the leaves unfurl fully, appearing vibrant, supple, and resilient with a yellowish-green color, indicating optimal tenderness.

——Brewing Guide

Serving: One easily broken-off block is perfect for one serving (approximately 4g).
Vessel: Ideal for a 120-150ml Gaiwan or small teapot.
Water Temperature: Use freshly boiled water at 95-100°C (203-212°F) to fully unlock the tea's complex aroma and flavors.
Rinse: We recommend a quick rinse (1-2 times, pour immediately) to awaken the tea leaves and ensure purity.
Steeping Times: For the first few infusions, steep immediately and decant quickly to appreciate the tea's fresh, aromatic character. From the 5th or 6th infusion onward, gradually extend the brewing time by 5-10 seconds based on your taste preference and the color of the liquor.
Versatility: While perfect for traditional Gaiwan or Yixing teapots, it also adapts beautifully to a travel mug (with an infuser) or a easy-strainer mug, offering premium tea enjoyment anywhere, anytime.
